Dr. Chung is a graduate of Northeastern University College of Pharmacy, Boston, Massachusetts. He received his medical training from Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, and post- graduate OBGYN residency training at Albany medical Center, N.Y. He is a Fellow of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American College of Surgeons. He is Board Certified in General OBGYN and FPMRS. He received the certification from the Accreditation Council of Gynecologic Endoscopy A.C.G.E. of A.A.G.L. in 1996 as an Advanced Laparoendoscopic Surgeon.He is a Professor of OBGYN, FPMRS, of Northeast Ohio Medical University, College of MedicineNEOMED Rootstown, Ohio and The Marietta College of Physicians Assistant Program. He is an Adjunct Professor of Pharmacy of Ohio Northern University, Ada, Ohio. He is also Adjunct Professor of Urology, WVU Medicine. WV.

He was the President of the Midwest Regional Center for Endometriosis, Chronic Pelvic Pain and Bladder Control and Alliance for Womens Health Inc. in Lima, Ohio for 30 years, He is the President 2011 of the International Pelvic Pain Society IPPS, and also of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons SLS in the year of 2012, 2016. He is also the SLS Ambassador to the Affiliated Societies,. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Global Society of Endometriosis and Pelvic pain Surgeons and Global Society of Endoscopic and Pelvic Surgeons GSEPS. Ohio and is a Visiting Professor of Peking Medical University, Beijing China Medical University Shenyang Xi’an Medical University, Xi’an and Bei Hua Medical University, Jilin Province, China. He is also an Honorary Member of The Colombia OBGYN Society, South America and The German Romania Society of OBG, Romania. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, as well as the Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery. His focus interests and researches in the last 30 years have been in advanced Laparoendoscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, Urogynecology, treatment of chronic pelvic pain, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, pudendal nerve dysfunction, Endometriosis and Interstitial cystitis. He performed and taught the first urinary continence TVT procedure in China, 2000. He was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Cause by The University of Timisoara, College of Medicine and Pharmacy, Romania. He was also the recipient of the 2018 SLS Surgeon Excel Award.
