Sleeve or Mini Bypass? A Common Question.

Both sleeve and mini bypass procedures are bariatric surgeries that help in weight loss.
Both are considered minimally invasive surgical procedures, meaning they are performed on a slimming basis. Laparoscopic surgery is performed through small incisions instead of a large open incision.
Both sleeve and mini gastric bypass procedures are performed under general anesthesia.
Depending on their physical condition, patients usually stay in the hospital for one or two days after surgery.

Differences between gastric sleeve and gastric mini bypass:

One of the main differences between sleeve gastrectomy and mini bypass is how weight loss is achieved. Laparoscopic gastric sleeve surgery involves removing a large part of the stomach, reducing the size of the stomach and restricting food intake. Mini-bypass, on the other hand, involves rerouting the small intestine into a small pouch in the stomach, reducing the amount of food the body can absorb.
Another difference is the length of recovery time after surgery. Patients who undergo mini-bypass surgery usually have a longer recovery time. But in sleeve laparoscopy, recovery and recovery of patients is a little faster and easier than bypass.
When it comes to weight loss results, both surgical procedures show excellent and effective results. But weight loss after gastric mini bypass is slower but longer than gastric sleeve surgery. It means that the patient may lose weight up to a year and a half, even up to two years after the mini bypass operation. Patients who have a sleeve usually lose a significant amount of weight in the first year after surgery, and their weight loss is faster.Sleeve
